What you’ll learn
Report statements while preserving time and meaning.
រាយការណ៍សេចក្ដីថ្លែងដោយរក្សាពេលវេលា និងអ្នកយោង។
Meaning and use
After a past reporting verb, a tense can shift back: is becomes was, has done becomes had done, and will becomes would. Backshift is common, but not compulsory when the information remains true or relevant. Adjust pronouns and time expressions to the reporting situation, not by automatic substitution.
ពេលរាយការណ៍សម្ដីក្រោយ said អាចប្ដូរកាលថយក្រោយ។ តែបើព័ត៌មាននៅតែពិត អាចរក្សាកាលដើមបាន។ ត្រូវប្ដូរសព្វនាម និងពាក្យពេលវេលាតាមបរិបទ។
