Meaning and use

Will is followed by a base verb and has the same form with all subjects. It is common for predictions, promises, offers, and decisions made at the time of speaking. Its negative form is will not, usually contracted to won’t. To make a yes/no question, put will before the subject. I’ll means I will; she’ll means she will. Future meaning can also be expressed with other patterns, including going to; the choice depends on context.

Grammar patterns

3. She won’t be late.

   នាងនឹងមិនមកយឺតទេ។

   តើអ្នកនឹងទូរសព្ទមកខ្ញុំយប់នេះទេ?

Everyday conversation

Dara: This bag is heavy.

Maly: I’ll help you.

Dara: Thank you. Will you come back later?

Maly: Yes, I will.

Common mistakes

Instead of	Use	Why
She will comes tomorrow.	She will come tomorrow.	Use a base verb after will, with no -s.
I will to help you.	I will help you.	Do not put to between will and the base verb.
