Meaning and use

Personal details help people introduce themselves and complete simple forms. First name is your given name; family name is your surname. Naming order differs between cultures, so follow the labels on a form rather than assuming that the first written word is the given name.

Common mistakes

Instead of	Use	Why
I have twenty years old.	I am twenty years old.	English uses be, not have, to state age.
My nationality is Cambodia.	My nationality is Cambodian.	Cambodia names the country; Cambodian names the nationality.
