Express preferences and find a shared option.
What you’ll learn
Express preferences and find a shared option.
Situation and purpose
Preference expressions help people choose an activity or item together. Prefer often compares alternatives; would rather takes a bare infinitive. Not really can soften a dislike, but give enough information for the other person to understand your choice. Ask for their preference as well as stating your own.
