Include event details and respond clearly to an invitation.

Writing focus

A written invitation needs an event, date, time, place, and any response requested. A reply should clearly accept or decline; enthusiasm alone may leave attendance unclear. If declining, a brief explanation is enough. Avoid adding obligations or promises that you do not intend to fulfil.

Examples

1. We’re having a small picnic on Sunday.

   យើងនឹងញ៉ាំអាហារក្រៅផ្ទះតូចមួយថ្ងៃអាទិត្យ។

2. Please bring something to drink.

   សូមយកភេសជ្ជៈមកផង។

3. I’d love to come.

   ខ្ញុំរីករាយនឹងចូលរួម។

4. Thank you, but I can’t make it this time.

   អរគុណ តែលើកនេះខ្ញុំមិនអាចមកបានទេ។

Model writing

Subject: Sunday study group

Hi Dara,

Would you like to join our study group on Sunday? We’ll meet at the library at two in the afternoon and finish at four. Please bring your notebook.

Common mistakes

Instead of	Use	Why
