Meaning and use
Fronting moves an element to the start for contrast or connection with earlier discourse. Ordinary object fronting does not automatically trigger auxiliary inversion. Writers often place familiar material first and heavier or newer information later. Marked fronting is useful in context but can sound unnatural if overused.
Grammar patterns

Maly: The first I cannot support. The second seems practical.
Common mistakes
| Instead of | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| That proposal can I support. (ordinary object fronting) | That proposal I can support. | Object fronting alone does not require auxiliary inversion. |
| The first plan, we rejected it. (intended: simple object fronting) | The first plan we rejected. | In this fronting pattern, do not duplicate the object; left-dislocation with a resumptive pronoun is a different structure. |
